Council profile

Bass Coast Shire is divided into seven wards. There is a total of seven councillors.
  • Anderson Ward  (1 councillor)
  • Churchill Ward  (1 councillor)
  • Hovell Ward  (1 councillor)
  • Leadbeater Ward  (1 councillor)
  • McHaffie Ward  (1 councillor)
  • Thompson Ward  (1 councillor)
  • Townsend Ward  (1 councillor)

Map of Bass Coast Shire. The Shire is divided into seven wards. Phillip Island largely consists of three wards: Thompson Ward includes Cowes, McHaffie Ward includes Ventnor and Rhyll, and Churchill Ward covers the east of the island excluding the small coastal tip. This section is in Anderson Ward, which also includes San Remo and Kilkunda. Leadbeater Ward includes The Gurdies, Grantville, Corinella and Coronet Bay. Hovell Ward includes Wonthaggi and Cape Paterson. Townsend Ward consists mainly of Inverloch.
