Moorabool Shire is divided into four wards. There is a total of seven councillors.

Woodlands Ward includes Spargo Creek, Blackwood, Gordon and Greendale. Bungal Ward includes Mount Egerton, Ballan, Ingliston, Bungal and Mount Wallace. East Moorabool Ward includes Darley, Bacchus Marsh, Maddingley and Rowsley.
